Whether a tree falls to the south or to the north, in the place where it falls, there will it lie

So, yeah, it’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve done a regular Artist of the Week Feature. My apologies. I haven’t had the time, and haven’t quite found an artist I have been interested in featuring. I’m looking over some old CDs for bands that probably haven’t gotten the attention they deserve and I’ll be sharing those shortly. Also, it takes me a little while to convert the sound files to quicktime .mov files. I do this to protect myself and the artist.

If I post an mp3 up here it’s easily downloadable by everyone and their momma. I want people to support these artists by going to their shows and buying merch (where the majority of artist really make all their money) as well as buying their albums and songs. Also, I don’t want to become some crazy RIAA (Vampiric monsters that they are) target that’s why you “cannot” download any of the .mov files either. Anyway, all that to say is that it takes time, and I haven’t readily had it.

Anyway, moving on and back to Anberlin. Their newest CD is called Cities and it’s not too Shabby. I’ve inlcuded 4 songs from that album for your listening pleasure. It was released Feb. 20th of this year on Tooth and Nail Records. Also, they’re from Florida, what isn’t there to love?

I particularly like the last track. It’s kinda “anthemic” and the chorus probably echoes how many people within and without the church probably feels about those in the church, or maybe just in general. It’s sadder to me when it’s coming from the church.
